The clinical externship requires a minimum of 2 years in recovery. Students must complete all didactic coursework (ADCS 100–105) before beginning the externship. The practicum includes weekly live video presentations shared with classmates and instructor feedback.

Course Overview

This 305-hour clinical bundle combines the Supervised Practicum (ADCS 200, 50 hours) and the Clinical Externship (ADCS 300, 255 hours) into one comprehensive clinical training experience. The practicum provides a supervised environment for role-play, verbatim analysis, and ethical scenario practice through live video sessions. The externship places students in real-world treatment facilities where they apply all prior coursework under professional supervision, practicing each of the 12 core functions with a minimum of 21 hours dedicated to each function.

An enrollment interview with our Program Director is still required prior to registration. After completing one individual module, students must commit to the full certificate program to continue.
